Roy Mendez en el mes de marzo de 2021, la empresa de telecomunicaciones realizó el tendido de fibra óptica de 300 kilómetros sobre el tramo carretero San Ignacio – San Matias. Lo cual permite el mayor trasporte de datos y la integración de las radio bases para su actualización e incorporación en la red de internet móvil, también se procedió a mejorar y dotar de mayor velocidad de navegación en internet a la localidad de San Matías, a través de los sistemas LTE de entel.
Después de haber estado estancada en sus ampliaciones y modernización de redes durante el año 2020, la empresa telefónica de los bolivianos y bolivianas retomó el proceso de mordernización y continua su expansión de redes de comunicación en las comunidades rurales brindando acceso al internet móvil a esas poblaciones.
