La Policía reporta la recuperación de 5.409 efectivos que dieron positivo a COVID-19

La Paz, 11 dic (ABI).- La Policía Boliviana reportó hasta la fecha el fallecimiento de 178 efectivos por COVID-19 y 5.409 recuperados, informó este viernes, el director nacional de Salud y Bienestar Social, David de la Torre.

«De acuerdo a las estadísticas epidemiológicas, hasta la fecha se contagiaron con la enfermedad 5.409 efectivos, quienes, tras someterse a un riguroso control y atención, salieron y vencieron a la pandemia», apuntó.

A nivel nacional hay 13 policías sospechosos de portar el COVID-19, 11 aislados en sus domicilios en proceso de recuperación bajo riguroso tratamiento.

Indicó que, para evitar una segunda ola de contagios en filas de las diferentes unidades policiales, por instrucción del ministro de Gobierno, Eduardo del Castillo, y del comandante general de la institución, Jhonny Aguilera, se reforzarán las medidas de bioseguridad.

Para la autoridad, la Policía es una de las instituciones más golpeadas por esta pandemia, ya que sus efectivos están en primera línea de defensa frente al COVID-19.

Dijo que, por ello, el triaje policial será reforzado en el ingreso a las unidades policiales a nivel nacional, con el objetivo de evitar el contagio masivo.
