Aplazan Censo 2 años para sumar idiomas y coordinar la cartografía

El Gobierno acordó la reprogramación del Censo Nacional de Población y Vivienda para mayo o junio de 2024 y para concretar la modificación de la fecha se trabajará en la aprobación de un decreto supremo.

“Con la firme predisposición de realizar un Censo absolutamente responsable, que sea una verdadera herramienta de planificación nacional, departamental y municipal; en consenso, el Consejo Nacional de Autonomías decidió reprogramar el Censo de Población y Vivienda, para el 2024”, escribió el presidente Luis Arce en su cuenta de Twitter, según ERBOL.

Entre tanto, el viceministro de Autonomías, Álvaro Ruiz, afirmó que fueron varios factores los que incidieron en la decisión de reprogramar la fecha que inicialmente era el 16 de noviembre. Se refirió a la incorporación en la boleta censal de la pregunta sobre los idiomas originarios así como la necesidad de contar con una cartografía estadística en coordinación con los gobiernos autónomos municipales, indígena originarios campesinos, entre otros.

También explicó que entre los motivos para cambiar la fecha está la situación del coronavirus y el impacto de la pandemia de COVID-19, la necesidad de una mayor socialización de la boleta censal, las condiciones climáticas que generan inaccesibilidad caminera y la migración interna por temporada de zafra, particularmente en el  norte del país.

Anteriormente, el ministro de Planificación, Sergio Cusicanqui, reveló que existen dificultades para llevar adelante el proceso censal como los límites intermunicipales, la oportuna llegada de los equipos tecnológicos para el levantamiento de datos por la pandemia y la guerra de Ucrania y un “alto nivel de politización del proceso. A su vez, durante la interpelación en la Asamblea, en junio, garantizó su realización ya que la boleta estaba al 98% y la entrega de los resultados oficiales después de 12 meses.
