Presidente agradece a la UE por destacar gestiones del Gobierno en la llegada de vacunas

El presidente Luis Arce agradeció este lunes al embajador de la Unión Europea en Bolivia, Michael Dóczy por su felicitación debido a la próxima llegada de un millón de dosis de vacunas gracias al mecanismo COVAX.

“Agradecemos al embajador de la Unión Europea en Bolivia, Michael Dóczy, su felicitación por la próxima llegada de un millón de dosis de vacunas por el mecanismo COVAX. Estar entre los cuatro países elegidos, nos incentiva a seguir trabajando por la salud de nuestro pueblo”, escribió el Mandatario en su cuenta de Twitter.

El embajador de la UE en Bolivia felicitó este lunes por la mañana la gestión del presidente Arce para conseguir vacunas mediante el Mecanismo COVAX.

“Felicitamos a Bolivia y a su gobierno por la llegada de las primeras vacunas contra COVID-19. Son muy buenas noticias. También, estoy muy feliz por el anuncio de que Bolivia será uno de los primeros países en recibir vacunas bajo el mecanismo COVAX”, dijo el diplomático en un video publicado por la Unión Europea en Bolivia en sus redes sociales.

El Ministerio de Salud y Deportes informó que hasta fin de febrero Bolivia recibirá casi un millón de vacunas de AstraZeneca y Pfizer, gestionadas a través del mecanismo COVAX, del cual forman parte 172 países en todo el mundo.

COVAX es una iniciativa global de riesgo compartido para la adquisición conjunta y la distribución equitativa de vacunas contra la COVID-19. El mecanismo priorizó a Bolivia para que pueda beneficiarse de manera anticipada de la provisión de insumos en el corto plazo.

“Nosotros, la Unión Europea, estamos comprometidos a garantizar un acceso justo y equitativo en todo el mundo. Con más de 1.000 millones de dólares somos el mayor contribuyente del mecanismo COVAX”, expresó el embajador Dóczy.
