El Ministerio de Obras Públicas licitó el estudio técnico para mejorar y ampliar el aeropuerto de Puerto Suárez, municipio cruceño ubicado en el extremo Este del país, donde se construye el Complejo Siderúrgico del Mutún.
“Estamos licitando el estudio técnico de preinversión para el mejoramiento y ampliación del aeropuerto de Puerto Suárez; estamos pidiendo la ampliación del aeropuerto, pero con su terminal de carga. Estamos apuntando a todo lo que es el Mutún”, informó el titular de esa cartera de Estado, Édgar Montaño, según una publicación del rotativo Ahora El Pueblo.
De acuerdo con la autoridad gubernamental, la licitación, que está publicada en el Sistema de Contrataciones Estatales (Sicoes) para que las empresas interesadas puedan presentar sus ofertas, es por Bs 2,5 millones y el plazo de ejecución es de 180 días.
“Se exigirá a las empresas los diseños geométricos, de pavimentos, de obras de drenaje y estructuras, de iluminación y área de movimiento, de ingeniería básica, de requerimiento de equipos de ayuda para navegación aérea, del edificio terminal de pasajeros y edificios aeronáuticos, de obras complementarias; también, el estudio de evaluación del impacto ambiental, de beneficio del transporte de carga y el diseño del edificio de la terminal de carga”, señaló.
En junio de este año, Montaño informó que el Gobierno nacional destinará Bs 13,3 millones para mejorar el aeropuerto de Puerto Suárez y de ese modo fortalecer la nueva industria de la Siderúrgica del Mutún y el turismo en esa región del país.
Tomando en cuenta que desde la ciudad de Santa Cruz el viaje por carretera hasta Puerto Suárez demora entre ocho y nueve horas, el aeropuerto ahorrará tiempo a los empresarios y facilitará la instalación de pequeñas industrias.
El Complejo Siderúrgico del Mutún estará conformado por siete plantas, producirá barras corrugadas (para el sector de la construcción) y alambrón de diferentes diámetros, principalmente. Su construcción llegó al 78% de avance a la fecha, según los datos oficiales.
