El Gobierno nacional gestiona la venta de chía a China y apunta a que Bolivia sea la principal proveedora de este superalimento al gigante mercado asiático, informó el viceministro de Comercio Exterior e Integración, Benjamín Blanco.
En contacto con Bolivia Tv, la autoridad indicó el domingo que el Gobierno nacional, a través de la Cancillería y otras entidades del Estado, trabaja en abrir el mercado de China para la venta de chía boliviana.
“Se están realizando todo lo que son las habilitaciones y los trabajos con la Aduana china para que nos permitan exportar este producto y así podernos convertir en el principal proveedor de chía del mundo”, dijo.
Resaltó que, en la actualidad, Bolivia es la segunda proveedora de chía en el mundo y la idea es que llegue a ser la primera en el mercado asiático, donde además exporta carne de res y quinua orgánica.
En abril de este año, el viceministro informó que Bolivia se ubica como el segundo productor mundial de chía después de Paraguay. Ante esa situación, empresarios del país apostaron por incrementar la siembra y cosecha de ese denominado superalimento.
Paraguay produce y comercializa 30.000 toneladas (t) de chía cada año y Bolivia alrededor de 15.000, seguida de Argentina y México, que registran, cada una, al menos 4.000 toneladas, detalló.
Según el Instituto Boliviano de Comercio Exterior (IBCE), con datos del Instituto Nacional de Estadística (INE), el valor de las exportaciones de chía, entre los años 2008 y 2020, acumuló un total de $us 272 millones.
Los mercados a los que se vende este superalimento son México, Estados Unidos, Perú, Alemania, Países Bajos, entre otros. La principal vía de exportación es Arica -Charaña- Tambo Quemado.
