El Corpus Christi (en latín “cuerpo de Cristo”) es una fiesta de la Iglesia Católica destinada a venerar la eucaristía. Es una fiesta móvil en el calendario litúrgico, que la sitúa el jueves siguiente al octavo Pentecostés.
El Ministerio de Trabajo, Empleo y Previsión Social recordó que este jueves 16 de junio es feriado nacional en conmemoración de Corpus Christi con suspensión de actividades públicas y privadas en todo el territorio nacional.
Según el Comunicado 019/2022 del Ministerio de Trabajo se establece el feriado en cumplimiento a lo dispuesto por el Decreto Supremo 2750 de 1 de mayo de 2016.
