La Paz, 06 de septiembre de 2023.- El presidente Luis Arce posesionó este miércoles a César Adalid Siles Bazán como nuevo Procurador General del Estado y le encomendó la defensa de los intereses de los bolivianos.
“Cuando hablamos de defender al Estado, no hablamos de una defensa abstracta, de una defensa de algo que no existe, el Estado somos todos nosotros, son nuestros intereses como ciudadanos bolivianos que están en manos de una Procuraduría, la cual estamos seguros que a la cabeza de Cesar Siles vamos a tener una defensa adecuada y se va a precautelar los intereses de cada uno de nosotros”, dijo el primer mandatario tras tomar el juramento al nuevo procurador en un acto en la Casa Grande del Pueblo.
Resaltó la necesidad de la defensa de los intereses del Estado en los ámbitos nacional e internacional.
Además, valoró que la Constitución Política del Estado tenga a la Procuraduría para defender al país, a diferencia del Estado colonial, que no consideraba esta tarea y se perdían muchos juicios y recursos económicos.
“Hoy tenemos una Procuraduría y, por delante, todo un proceso para profundizar todo el trabajo que debe hacer en beneficio de los intereses de las bolivianas y los bolivianos”, dijo.
En su intervención, el presidente agradeció el trabajo de Wilfredo Chávez durante el tiempo que le tocó desempeñar las funciones como procurador del Estado y los avances en su gestión.
“Sabemos que la esta tarea no es fácil, siempre es complicado, porque hay muchos intereses que están en contra del Estado. Ha habido avances en la Procuraduría, que será el punto de partida para que el actual procurador Cesar Siles pueda retomar y conducir a la institución hacia los fines para la que fue creada”, sostuvo.
Siles ocupaba hasta hace poco el cargo de Viceministro de Justicia y Derechos Fundamentales, remplaza a Chávez quien cumplió funciones como Procurador desde noviembre de 2020.
