El Ministro de Justicia, Iván lima, aclaró este sábado que Jeanine Áñez es procesada en calidad de exsenadora por una demanda instaurada por la exdiputada del Movimiento Al Socialismo (MAS), Lidia Patty, en diciembre de 2020, y no así como expresidenta.
“En este momento estamos ante un juicio a una exsenadora, por lo tanto, no corresponde un juicio de privilegio constitucional y esa es la realidad de los hechos, cuando se la juzgue como expresidenta se tendrá que evaluar en qué caso va a la Asamblea y si autoriza el enjuiciamiento, en este caso estamos ante un juicio ordinario”, explicó en entrevista con la emisora estatal Patria Nueva.
Lima recordó que lo que se investiga es la actuación de la exsenadora Áñez y los miembros de su partido político, quienes con solamente un cuatro por ciento de apoyo del electorado tomaron el Gobierno mediante un golpe de Estado, que terminó con la muerte de varios bolivianos.
“Que no se distorsione la realidad, que no se pretenda que se está haciendo una persecución (…) hay personas que han actuado y han realizado un golpe de Estado y deben ser llevadas a juicio, este proceso ha comenzado en diciembre (de 2020), lo ha iniciado la exdiputada Lidia Patty y ha llevado todos los pasos que corresponden a un debido proceso”, explicó Lima.
La máxima autoridad de Justicia detalló que con solo revisar los expedientes se puede verificar que hubo un inicio de investigación, órdenes de allanamiento, mandamientos de comparendo y de aprehensión, todo en el marco de un debido proceso, y que no se trata de una persecución política como pretenden hacer creer Áñez y las demás personas aprehendidas.
“Ella (Áñez) podría haber venido desde diciembre a dar su verdad y su opinión sobre este golpe de Estado, no lo ha hecho y lo que señala el Código de Procedimiento Penal, es que se debe activar las instituciones procesales (…). Una persona que no quiere actuar en justicia, que no quiere responder a los tribunales, tiene que seguir el curso de institucionalidad, el Ministerio Público actuó y la Policía actuó”, señaló.
“Esto no es una persecución política, es un debido proceso para devolverle a las viudas, a los heridos y a todas las víctimas del golpe de Estado, lo que ellos nos han pedido desde el día de ayer, justicia y eso es lo que está haciendo y va a hacer siempre el Gobierno nacional”, ratificó.
