El presidente Luis Arce celebró el descubrimiento del “mega campo” hidrocarburífero Boicobo Sur X-1, en el cual está ubicado en la región de Huacaya en Chuquisaca, y que cuenta con una reserva aproximada de 1 TCF (trillón de pies cúbicos) de gas.
“Esa es la feliz noticia que quería aprovechar este 24 de diciembre como un regalo de nuestra Pachamama, a todo el pueblo boliviano que ha estado pues durante este año bastante restringido con muchos problemas y que, al final, poco a poco hasta inclusive la Pachamama nos está dando señales muy positivas”, manifestó el mandatario.
Precisó que la exploración del pozo estaba a cargo del consorcio Repsol, Shell y Pan American.
Indicó que en 2015 comenzó el proceso para tener este descubrimiento, con la autorización para la exploración. En 2016 se presentó el proyecto y en octubre de 2019 se comenzó la perforación que culminó con éxito este 2 de diciembre de 2020.
Arce manifestó que los trabajos tenían un presupuesto de cerca de 102 millones de dólares y que se invirtió como 74 millones.
Aclaró que el pozo está en fase de preparación para la explotación y todo apunta que hasta finales de 2021 ya va a entrar en producción.
