La República de Argentina realizó este miércoles el traspaso de la Presidencia Pro Témpore de la Comisión Trinacional para el Desarrollo de la Cuenca del Río Pilcomayo (CTN) al Estado Plurinacional de Bolivia.
El evento se organizó en el marco de la LVI Reunión del Consejo de Delegados de la Comisión Trinacional para el Desarrollo de la Cuenca del Río Pilcomayo, integrada por Argentina, Bolivia y Paraguay.
El vicecanciller Freddy Mamani Machaca informó sobre el restablecimiento de la cooperación con el Instituto Francés de Investigación para el Desarrollo (IRD) y la implementación del Estudio de Migración del Sábalo, proyecto que se truncó en el régimen de Jeanine Áñez.
Las delegaciones de Argentina y Paraguay expresaron su apoyo y felicitación a Bolivia por asumir la Presidencia Pro Tempore para dar continuidad a los esfuerzos de cooperación entre los tres países.
En febrero de 1995, los presidentes de Argentina, Bolivia y Paraguay firmaron la Declaración Presidencial de Formosa, en la que constituyen la Comisión Trinacional para el Desarrollo de la Cuenca del Río Pilcomayo (CTN).
El objetivo fue lograr una solución consensuada a los problemas de la cuenca, promoviendo el desarrollo integrado.
