Estudio revela que el 40% de marcas de focos led no cumplen con criterios de norma internacional

La Paz, 12 de octubre de 2023 . – El 40% de las marcas de focos led que se venden en el mercado nacional no cumple con los criterios establecidos en la normativa internacional, reveló un estudio de evaluación realizado por el Instituto Boliviano de Metrología (Ibmetro).

Según un reporte institucional, la información fue dada a conocer por el director de Metrología Industrial y Científica, Henry Paco, quien comentó que este documento muestra también las características positivas de los productos en comparación con los focos tradicionales.

“El ‘Estudio de evaluación de desempeño de lámparas led de uso domiciliario’ nos reveló que el 40 por ciento de las marcas de focos led en el mercado no cumple con los criterios establecidos en la normativa internacional para su correcto funcionamiento en los hogares bolivianos, es por eso que recomendamos a la población verificar los parámetros en las etiquetas, como voltaje, corriente y potencia, antes de adquirir estos productos”, dijo.

El experto afirmó que la evaluación fue realizada para que el ciudadano pueda saber qué es lo que adquiere exactamente en el mercado y logre comprar un producto que pueda satisfacer sus necesidades.

“La potencia debe ser mínima y la intensidad luminosa adecuada para el lugar que desea alumbrarse. El foco led está programado para un uso de hasta 20 mil horas, es por eso que los clientes deben corroborar todos estos detalles en la etiqueta del producto. Los focos led son más eficientes, algo más costosos que los tradicionales, pero esto se compensa con el periodo de uso que ofrecen. Estos productos son fáciles de ser reactivados si requieren un mantenimiento”, explicó Paco.

Asimismo, recalcó que existe diferencias entre los distintos tipos de productos ofertados actualmente en el mercado, en lo referente a focos luminosos para el hogar.

“Hablando técnicamente, un foco incandescente consumirá aproximadamente 75 watts, un foco fluorescente 20 watts, mientras que un led tendrá una potencia de 12 watts, lo que lleva a este producto a generar un ahorro de hasta el 80% en comparación a los otros”, resaltó.

La directora general ejecutiva del Ibmetro, Mabel Delgado, resaltó que ese tipo de evaluaciones se realizan con el objetivo de apoyar a la población, brindando la información necesaria para que puedan optar por el mejor producto ofertado en el mercado.

“Los focos led son amigables con el medio ambiente porque no utilizan mercurio y esto permite ahorrar energía eléctrica, lo que beneficia también a las familias bolivianas en el pago del consumo de energía eléctrica”, destacó la autoridad.

Mencionó que el país no cuenta aún con una norma que regule estos productos; sin embargo, actualmente se trabaja en la elaboración de un reglamento que permita regular los parámetros técnicos requeridos.
