El embajador de Bolivia en los Países Bajos y agente de Bolivia, Roberto Calzadilla, pidió este miércoles a la Corte Internacional de Justicia (CIJ) que declare que el Estado plurinacional tiene soberanía sobre los canales artificiales y mecanismos de drenaje de las aguas del Silala en su territorio.
“Bolivia solicita respetuosamente a la Corte que adjudique y declare que: a) Bolivia tiene soberanía sobre los canales artificiales y mecanismos de drenaje en el Silala que se encuentran en su territorio y tiene derecho a decidir si los mantiene y cómo”, aseveró en su participación.
La CIJ inició este miércoles la segunda ronda de alegatos en la que el equipo de expertos de Bolivia tuvo su última participación en el caso de la disputa sobre el estatus y uso de las aguas del Silala.
“Cualquier solicitud de Chile a Bolivia para la entrega del caudal mejorado del Silala, así como las condiciones y modalidades de la misma, incluyendo la compensación a pagar por dicha entrega, está sujeta a la celebración de un acuerdo con Bolivia”, aseveró el agente.
Enfatizó que Bolivia tiene soberanía sobre el caudal artificial de las aguas del Silala que se organiza, mejora o produce en su territorio, por lo que Chile no tiene ningún derecho adquirido.
El jueves 14 de abril, Chile dará su respuesta a los argumentos de la contrademanda.
