El mandatario participó en una videoconferencia organizada por el banco Credit Suisse y se comprometió a recuperar en 2021 una plena austeridad fiscal, tras los gastos extraordinarios que el año pasado demandó el combate a la pandemia de coronavirus.
«En el ámbito fiscal, mantendremos un firme compromiso con las reglas del techo de gastos», que limitan el aumento del presupuesto estatal, «y con la sustentabilidad y la credibilidad económica», indicó Bolsonaro junto a su ministro de Economía, Paulo Guedes.
«No vamos a dejar que medidas temporales relacionadas a la crisis se conviertan en compromisos permanentes de gastos», remarcó el presidente de ultraderecha, en alusión a los subsidios que su gobierno dedicó a los más pobres y desempleados durante el año pasado, frente a la parálisis económica que provocó la pandemia.
