Chile informa que ha superado el millón de personas vacunadas contra la COVID

El Gobierno de Chile informó este martes que ha superado el millón de personas vacunadas contra la COVID-19.

“Hoy superamos el millón de personas vacunadas. Tenemos un millón de razones, la mayoría de ellas adultos mayores, para estar contentos. El año 2020 fue un año de angustias. Hagamos del 2021 el año de la esperanza”, publicó el presidente Sebastián Piñera en Twitter.

Chile comenzó a vacunar a personal de salud desde el 24 de diciembre y, posteriormente, la vacunación masiva inició el 3 de febrero, con más de 140 mil inmunizados en el primer día.

El ministro de Salud, Enrique París, precisó que 1.025.580 personas han sido inoculadas en Chile hasta la tarde del martes, de las cuales 376.519 son adultos mayores de más de 78 años.

Respecto al género, el 62,1% de los inoculados corresponde a mujeres y el 37,9% son hombres.

El titular de la cartera calificó superar el millón de personas durante la primera semana de la campaña de inmunización masiva como “un gran logro y una promesa de vida”.
